# 10th Jun 26

## :sparkles: New

* **A compliance hub for every range.** REACH compliance now has its own home per range, with tabs for the site profile, soil & water, lead & reclamation, actions & maintenance and the declaration — instead of one long page. The **Overview** tab shows your status at a glance, a **What needs doing** list, and a **Getting set up** checklist for new ranges. The range page keeps a compact summary card that links into the hub.
* **Maintenance planning.** You can now plan the upkeep your range needs — bund repairs, vegetation checks, periodic lead recovery — once or on a repeating schedule. Each task shows when it's next due and turns red when overdue; **Mark as done** pre-fills the recording form, and the next due date moves forward automatically.
* **A sampling form built for the field.** Recording a soil or water sample now works the way sampling actually happens: tap **Use my location** (or drag a pin on the map) to mark the spot by GPS, big −/+ buttons for the pH reading, soil/water as a simple two-button choice — and if the sample is off to a lab, save it as **awaiting results** and add the lead figure when the report comes back. Pending results are flagged on the sampling history and in What needs doing.
* **Backstops and range layout.** You can now describe your range properly: lanes, firing arrangement and distances, plus each backstop — its construction, height, distance and the lanes it serves, with photos. Reclamations and samples can be recorded against a specific backstop, and the lead inventory gains a **per-backstop breakdown** so each bund keeps its own running estimate. All optional — a single-bund range works exactly as before.
* **Quicker waste consignments.** Use **Consign waste** next to a reclamation and the consignment starts pre-filled with its quantity and description; the consignment note can be photographed straight from your phone.
* **Non-lead munitions.** When logging a shoot, you can now tick **Non-lead munition** for copper or synthetic rounds. Those rounds still count towards round totals and shooting history, but are left out of the **estimated lead** in the range's back-stop — and out of the rounds-per-lane de-leading trigger — so clubs using Range Mate for lead management get accurate figures and don't over-estimate what needs recovering.

## :bug::hammer: Bug Fixes

* **Nearby water data now actually arrives.** The "look up nearby water data" feature on the site profile returned nothing due to a fault in how the public datasets were queried. It now correctly finds groundwater protection zones — and, for England, named watercourses including rivers, brooks and canals — near your range, with sensible distances.
* **OS grid references fill in automatically.** Ranges that already had a map position but no grid reference now have one derived for them — previously this only happened when the map position changed.

## :hammer: Improvements

* **Lead recovery has one clear home.** "Lead removal" is no longer offered as a risk-reduction action — recovering lead is always recorded as a reclamation (which captures the mass, method and destination), and planned via a Reclamation maintenance task.
