## :sparkles: New

* **Assign lanes from the range log.** On a lane-tracked range, the RO can now set a shooter's lane straight from the attendance register and it applies to all their guns — no need to open and edit the shoot. Members can pick a lane when they book if they know it; the RO confirms or overrides on the day.
* **Per-range calibre & energy controls.** A range can now restrict which guns are allowed: list specific permitted **calibres**, and/or set a **muzzle energy (ft·lb)** or **velocity (fps)** limit. A gun that's clearly over the limit is blocked when it's booked or logged; a borderline one is allowed with a warning. Set these on the range's settings.
* **Require round counts before locking a range log.** Clubs using Strict Record Keeping Mode can now switch on a check (in **Club Settings → General**) that stops an RO locking a session until every attendee's rounds are recorded — enter zero if they didn't fire. Attendees still missing their count are flagged in the register.

## :hammer: Improvements

* **Easier calibre picking.** The calibre dropdowns (registering a gun, setting a range's permitted calibres) are now **searchable** — start typing to find one — and grouped by size so similar calibres sit together (.223 and 5.56 are neighbours). Adding a new calibre now also lets you note its type (pistol/rifle/shotgun), primer (rimfire/centrefire) and bore diameter.
* **The range timeline is paged.** Long histories no longer load as one giant page — the timeline now paginates like the rest of the app, and the type filter (usage, samples, reclamations…) applies across the whole history rather than just the page you're on.
* **Faster round logging from the range log.** Each attendee row now has a quick **rounds** box next to the lane: enter the session total and it splits evenly across their guns (e.g. 300 across three rifles → 100 each). Need a different split? **Edit guns used** now opens in a pop-up — adjust each gun, add more, or log a session from scratch — without leaving the register.
* **Draw your range on the map properly.** The site profile map now has modes — draw the boundary, drop firing-point markers, or sketch the grazing area, each with one tap, no code-like data to paste. Backstops get their own **drawn outline**, set on the backstop itself — tap the corners on the map, or walk the backstop pressing "add point at my location" — and show up named on the site map.
* **See where attention is needed at a glance.** The Range Management dashboard gains a **Needs attention** column per range — a red count of maintenance tasks due, overdue sampling and lab results still outstanding, or a green "Up to date". Due and overdue maintenance also now appears in the admin **action items** menu alongside everything else that needs doing.
* **Signage joins the action library.** Lead hygiene signage and boundary/impact-area signage are now recognised measures, and adopting the NRA schedule plans an annual signage check for the range.
* **Three new roles for range work.** Hand out range access without handing out admin: **Range Manager** runs the whole module (and nothing else admin-side), **Range Staff** sees everything and records day-to-day work — completing maintenance tasks, logging reclamations, samples and waste hand-overs — and **Range Viewer** is read-only with evidence-pack and declaration downloads. Every club gets the roles automatically; assign them from a member's profile.

## :hammer: Improvements

* **The module is now called Range Management** across the menu, dashboard and docs — REACH remains the name for the declaration and outdoor-specific obligations within it.
* **The maintenance plan separates "due now" from "upcoming"**, so what needs doing today doesn't get lost among tasks that aren't due for months. Lane-tracked ranges also get sharper de-leading triggers: the rounds counter now follows the **busiest lane** rather than the average.
* **Cleaner forms.** Choosing a best-practice measure now starts from a proper "select…" prompt with "Other" at the bottom, and the category only appears when it's needed. The "Adopt NRA schedule" button disappears once a backstop has its full schedule.
