✨ New

  • View and embed your calendars, not just subscribe β€” a public calendar can now be opened as a web page in any browser and embedded straight onto your own website, alongside the existing calendar-app subscription. Each calendar has View and Embed on your website buttons on the calendars list, and you can choose whether it opens on an agenda list or a month grid. Every version updates itself as your events change. It works on phones as well as computers, and tapping an event shows its details with a link to open the booking page. Existing subscriptions are unaffected.

  • Leagues and seasons β€” ladder a run of matches into a season standing without re-entering anything. Build a league under Leagues, choose how the season is scored (add every match, best N count so missing a round isn't fatal, drop each member's worst few, average percentage, or a season with a weighted finale), then add the matches that count toward it. One match can feed more than one league. Standings are worked out separately per division, update on their own as scores change, and show which matches counted for each person (for example "best 10 of 13"). Any member can view the table, and a match's results page links through to any league it counts toward.

  • Enter a competition when you book β€” when an event is set up as a competition, booking onto it now offers to enter you and asks how you're shooting (division, class, category, power factor). For competitions that require entry, booking enters you automatically. Booked but didn't enter at the time? Your event page now shows an Enter competition button so you can join later, with no need to ask an admin.

  • Turn an event into a competition in one step β€” when you create an event, a new This event is a competition toggle on the form lets you choose a discipline and whether entry is optional or required, and sets the competition up for you. It's named after the event and ready for you to add stages. You can still attach a competition to an existing event from the event's page.

  • See the competition you've entered β€” if you've booked onto a session that's a competition, the event page now shows it clearly, including whether the courses of fire and squadding have been published yet, with a link to a competition page of your own. There you can read each stage's course of fire in advance, see the squad lists, and find which squad you're in. Stages a club chooses to run blind stay hidden until the match is over.

  • Rewrite the emails Range Mate sends, in your club's own words β€” email templates are out of beta and available to every club, including club admins (not just the admin role). Under Club Settings β†’ Emails β†’ Manage email templates, every email the system sends is now listed in plain English with a note on when it goes and who gets it, showing at a glance which use standard wording and which you've customised. Customising an email starts you from the standard wording, subject included, so you can see what it says today and just edit, rather than writing from a blank page. Deleting a template just puts that email back to the standard wording. Actions that wait for a club-written email (invite to interview, add to waiting list) link you straight to the right setup.

πŸ”¨ Improvements

  • Choose the guest rules for each guest event β€” guest events used to always require the inviting member to be booked on before their guests could book, with a fixed limit of two guests per member. Both are now settings revealed on the event form when you tick Guest event: untick Guests can only book once the member who invited them is booked on if guests should book on without their host (say, when a club officer sends the invitations but doesn't attend the guest days), and set your own Guest limit per member, or clear it for no limit. Existing and new events keep the old rules until you change them.

  • Choose how long records stay editable after a quarter closes β€” record locking used to always lock a shooting record a few days after the end of its quarter. You can now set that grace period yourself under Club Settings β†’ General, anywhere from no grace (locks exactly at quarter end) up to 12 months. The default stays at 3 days, so nothing changes unless you pick a longer window. Handy if your members need more time to bring their records up to date after a period ends. It only applies while Record locking is on, and doesn't affect how strict mode locks a record once it's been verified.

  • Faster score entry β€” when scoring a shooter you can step through the squad with prev/next arrows at the top, and a Save & next button saves the current shooter and moves straight to the next one in order (it falls back to "Save" on the last shooter). Fewer trips back to the squad list. On matches without shooter approval, Save & next moves on instantly without waiting for the save: the score is sent in the background and a small "Saving…" indicator shows when anything's still in flight. If signal drops, scores queue and send themselves when it's back, so nothing's lost and a quick blip never holds up the line.

  • Release courses of fire and squadding when you're ready β€” the competition page now has a What competitors can see panel. Publish the courses of fire and the squad lists to entered competitors when you choose, separately from opening the match for scoring. Everyone entered is emailed when each is first published, and you can send a follow-up email if something changes. Mark a single stage (or a whole match) as blind and its course of fire stays hidden from competitors until the match is over, for surprise stages.

  • Merge tags in email templates are easier to use, and reach more of the email β€” typing / in the template editor now opens a menu that filters as you type, works with the arrow keys and Enter, and there's a visible Merge tags toolbar button for anyone who doesn't know the shortcut. A short explainer on the edit screen covers how tags work. Emails also gain tags for the thing they're about: booking confirmations can include the event name, location and time, the account created email carries the temporary password (and won't save without it), declarations know their name, and emails with a button expose their link. The preview picks up a search box for choosing the member to preview as, starts with your own details straight away, shows the email inside your club's real logo-and-footer wrapper, uses clearly-labelled example values for things like the booking, and warns you about any tag it couldn't fill in (a typo, or missing profile data) instead of silently leaving a blank.

πŸ›πŸ”¨ Bug Fixes

  • Merge tags now fill in for declaration, membership payment and renewal emails. Customised versions of those emails used to send with every user. tag blank, because the system looked for the details on the wrong record. They now fill in the member's details as you'd expect. Tags inserted from the editor menu also now always survive saving; previously an inserted tag could silently vanish from the saved template.

  • The records grace period now applies when you edit an older record. If your club set a longer grace period for record locking, editing or adding a shooting record from an earlier quarter still failed with "Date must be in the current quarter", even though the record wasn't locked yet. Records dated within your club's grace window now save as expected. Records dated beyond the window, and records once they're locked, are unchanged.

  • Sign-ups from mainstream email providers are no longer turned away by mistake. The throwaway-email check was wrongly rejecting some legitimate providers, including several big UK ISPs (BT, Virgin Media, TalkTalk and others). Anyone using one of those addresses can now create an account as normal, while genuine disposable addresses are still blocked.

  • Passing probation no longer fails for members who only just started it. Marking a member as Passed probation (or recording that they left the club) on the same day their current membership began used to fail with an unhelpful "Change Rejected" page. That barely-started membership is a mis-assignment being corrected, so it's now removed rather than kept as a zero-length record, and the upgrade goes through.

  • Clearer messages when a change can't be saved. When something you try genuinely can't be saved (for example, a date that doesn't make sense), you now get a message on the page explaining why, instead of a generic "Change Rejected" error page.

  • Precision disciplines score one target, not many β€” for CSR, Target Rifle, Gallery Rifle and other precision disciplines, a stage target is now shown on the score sheet as a single target you put your shots into (one Fig 11, ten shots to count), instead of being split into one target per shot. There's an optional Miss button to record a shot that didn't score, so a fully accounted card still shows as complete. Practical disciplines, where a stage really does have several targets, are unchanged.

  • The cancelled bookings list opens again. On an event's attendees tab, Show cancelled bookings was showing some club admins and range officers an "Access Denied" page instead of the list. It now opens for anyone who can manage that event's attendees. The list could also fail to load when one of the cancelled bookings belonged to a member who had since been removed from the club. Those bookings now show as Deleted member, so the page still loads.

  • Membership workflow stages are clearer, and members can't get stuck. In a membership workflow, each membership status (like probation) now maps to a single stage. Building several stages for the same status used to be possible but left the extra ones unreachable, so members could get stranded partway through. The builder now offers each status only once and won't save a duplicate. To split a long list of conditions into smaller steps, add more requirements to the one stage. Any existing workflows that had more than one stage for a status have been tidied into a single stage, keeping every requirement and everyone's progress.
