# Getting Started

## Turning the module on

REACH Compliance is enabled per club. If you can see a **REACH Compliance** entry in the main admin menu, it's already on for your club.

If you don't see it and you believe your club should have it, contact Range Mate support to have it enabled. (A self-service toggle in Club Settings is planned.)

Once enabled, a **compliance hub** appears automatically for any location that is marked as **managed** with its range type set to **indoor or outdoor**. Outdoor ranges get the full REACH toolset; indoor ranges get the maintenance, lead-inventory and waste features without the REACH-specific tabs.

## Setting a range up

Open **Locations**, choose the range, and click **Edit**. With the module enabled you'll see some extra fields:

1. **Managed** — tick this if your club is responsible for the facility.
2. **Range type** — choose **Outdoor** or **Indoor**. (Outdoor ranges carry the REACH declaration; indoor ranges get range management without it. "Other" locations stay out of scope.)
3. **Nation** — England, Wales or Scotland. This decides your enforcing authority (EA, NRW or SEPA) and the local terminology for groundwater designations. Leave it blank and you'll be prompted to set it before the declaration can be completed.
4. **OS grid reference** — e.g. `TG 51409 13177`. You can type it in, or leave it blank and Range Mate will work it out from the location's What3Words marker if one is set.

Save the range. A **REACH compliance** card now appears on the range's page — click **Open compliance hub** to get to the module (or click the range from the **REACH Compliance** dashboard in the main menu).

The OS grid reference is one of the fields the enforcing authority requires on the declaration, so it's worth getting right. If you enter one by hand it takes priority; otherwise it's derived from the map coordinates.

## Who can use it?

The compliance hub is available to **club admins** (and, read-only, to read-only admins). Ordinary members don't see it. The platform-curated **action library** (see [Actions & maintenance](/for-club-admins/reach-compliance/risk-reduction-actions.md)) is maintained centrally by Range Mate.

## What to do next

The hub's **Overview** tab has a **Getting set up** checklist that walks you through everything in order — the [site environmental profile](/for-club-admins/reach-compliance/site-environmental-profile.md) is a good place to start because it feeds both the declaration and the evidence pack. As records come in, the checklist ticks itself off and the **What needs doing** list takes over, telling you when samples and maintenance tasks come due. The [dashboard](/for-club-admins/reach-compliance/dashboard-and-evidence-pack.md) shows the same readiness picture across all your ranges.
