# Declarations

A **declaration** is something your club asks you to confirm — for example agreeing to its rules, or showing proof of a qualification you hold. You'll find yours under **Members Area → Declarations**.

The page groups everything into three parts: anything that **needs your attention** now (declarations your club requires of you), other declarations **available** to you, and the ones you've already **signed and agreed**.

## The ways you might complete one

Your club chooses how each declaration works:

* **Read and agree** — read the wording, tick to confirm, and submit.
* **Upload a document you hold** — upload a copy of something you already have, such as a First Aid or range officer certificate, and tell us **when it expires** so we can remind you in good time.
* **Download, sign and return** — download a form, complete and sign it, then upload the signed copy. If you already have a copy — for example a printed one from your club — you can skip the download and just upload your completed form.

For an uploaded document, enter the expiry date printed on **your** copy — not today's date. Your club may charge a fee for some activities, but declarations themselves are simply confirmations you make, and Range Mate tracks each one from that date so your record stays accurate.

## Approval

Some declarations are accepted as soon as you submit them; others need a club admin to review and approve yours first. While one is awaiting approval it shows as **Pending**. If an admin can't accept it they'll reject it with a reason, and you can resubmit.

## Renewing and your history

Declarations can have an expiry date. As one approaches expiry a **Renew** button appears next to it — renewing keeps your record unbroken, and your current declaration stays valid until it actually expires. Use **History** to see every time you've made a particular declaration, with its dates and status.

## Disciplines and roles

Completing certain declarations can add a **discipline** to your record (for example towards your NRA Safe Shooter card) or give you a **role** at the club. These are added when your declaration is approved and removed if it lapses — so keeping your declarations current keeps your access current too.

## Declarations your club requires

Your club can mark some declarations as **required**. If you have a required declaration outstanding, you'll be asked to complete it before you can carry on using the rest of the app.

If you're sent to the declarations page after signing in, it's because you have a required declaration to complete. Finish it and you'll be able to continue as normal.
