# Tracking Your Progress

Most clubs move you through a few stages before you become a full member. For example, a **probation** period before you're signed off. **Your progress** shows you exactly where you are on that journey and what your club asks of you before you move on.

## Where to find it

When your club is tracking your progress, **Your progress** appears in the menu, and a small progress card shows on your dashboard. If you don't see it, your club isn't using progress tracking yet, and there's nothing you need to do.

## What you'll see

Your progress page shows, for each journey you're on:

* **The stage you're at now** (for example, probation) and the stages still to come.
* **What's still to do.** The things your club needs you to complete before you move on.
* **What's already done.**
* **Recommended extras.** Optional suggestions you can tick off yourself.

## Required vs recommended steps

* **Required steps** are what your club needs you to complete to move on. You can't move on until they're all done.
* **Recommended steps** are suggestions (for example, "we recommend reading our range orders"). They never hold you back. They're there to help. You can **tick these off yourself** when you've done them, just for your own record.

## How steps get completed

Different steps complete in different ways, and most look after themselves:

* **Attending sessions.** Some steps count how many times you've **attended**. A booking on its own doesn't count. You need to have **checked in** on the day. See [Booking onto events](/for-members/booking-onto-events.md).
* **Signing a declaration.** Some steps are done when you sign a particular declaration. See [Declarations](/for-members/declarations.md).
* **A minimum time.** Some steps simply need a minimum time to pass (for example, a **minimum time on probation**). There's nothing for you to do. It updates on its own.
* **A club admin confirms it.** Some steps are ticked off by a club official when you're ready.

{% hint style="info" %}
Bookings don't count until you've **checked in and attended**. Progress usually counts from the point you **reached your current stage**, so attendances from before then may not count towards this stage.
{% endhint %}

## Waiting for club approval

Once you've done everything required for your current stage, you'll see a **"you've done everything, your club will confirm your move"** message. Moving you on to the next stage is always done by a club admin, so once you're ready you'll see this until they confirm it.

{% hint style="success" %}
Seeing the green "waiting for approval" banner means the ball's in your club's court. You've done your part.
{% endhint %}
